Maintenance Officer

The Opportunity:The Maintenance and Grounds Officer is responsible for undertaking maintenance duties across the Newcastle Anglican property portfolio. Including, but not limited to, repairs, painting, equipment servicing, minor construction and alteration works, and general handyman duties covering both internal and external building maintenance.This is a Full Time Permanent vacancy.Why Work for us?Up to 40% on school enrolment fees at any of our Newcastle Anglican schoolsSalary packaging options (up to $611/fortnight)Discounted private health insurance through MedibankCareer and development opportunities – we want you to flourish!Access to over 300+ gyms with the Fitness Passport ProgramFree access to our corporate Employee Assistance Program14 weeks paid parental leave or 3 weeks paid partner leave.Role & Responsibilities: The work carried out by the Property Maintenance officer will include:Carry out works for high pressure cleaning, cleaning gutters, replacing light bulbs, gardening, replacing washer in taps, etc.Regular site visits to each property - there will be occasions where an overnight stay will be required,and regular overtime and after-hourswork may be required.Required to provide advice to the Property Team on future maintenance requirements for each property.Management of contractors as required who are performing maintenance on Newcastle Anglican properties.Contributing to property specific strategic planning and team operational planning, policy and procedure development, compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements, managing work systems and ensuring effective team functioningUndertake all administrative work associated with regulatory compliance and other property work, specifically providing up to date source data for reporting and accounting purposes.What we are looking for:You are a self-starter who is motivated and uses initiative while being respectful in all aspects of your role. You are a problem solver who communicates effectively and are passionate about delivering on your commitments. You take pride in the work you carry out and are committed to a safe workplace culture.
