We are looking for a part-time maintenance officer for our Cardiff Heights retirement living.
The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Officer to ensure that all tasks are undertaken to support service delivery outcomes including the maintenance of the property and land-based assets, plant and equipment.
The Maintenance Officer is an important part of the team striving to enhance the day-to-day lives of residents by providing a safe and clean living environment.
This diverse hands-on role requires a proactive approach to the maintenance and involves the general upkeep of the buildings' plant & equipment, furniture, fittings, gardens, lawns, and carparks. Responsibilities include:
Enabling care and accommodation facilities to be provided in a safe, sustainable, and homelike environment through the timely undertaking of planned and unplanned maintenance.Communicating effectively with residents, staff, and families, being empathetic and understanding of the needs of CBCS's aged residents.Ensuring maintenance work undertaken is compliant with corporate standards and WHS.Undertaking building/property maintenance tasks as necessary and in a timely manner. Such tasks may be routine or planned and/or reactive.Maintaining all aspects of plant, fittings, and equipment to meet regulatory compliance standards and documentation.Responding to requests in a timely manner which includes minor repairs, furniture removal, etc.Ensuring all plant and equipment are safe, in optimum condition, and continually maintained and operating according to the manufacturer's requirements. This includes communicating all malfunctions to the manager immediately.Conducting regular stock takes and maintaining adequate stock, tools, and equipment required for the facilities.Conducting regulatory checks including equipment testing and tagging.Conducting site inspections.About You You are an individual who gets satisfaction in making a positive difference in the lives of the elderly every day. You enjoy working in a team and autonomously where no two days are the same.
Experience in the same or similar role highly desirable.Good communication & interpersonal skills.Knowledge and understanding of legislation that relates to buildings, workplace health, and safety.Trade background preferred but not essential.Demonstrated ability to maintain buildings and equipment to be compliant with legislation and/or corporate standards.Understanding of obligations of contractors.Current NSW driver's license, preferably a bus licence.Even Better: Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role preferably in an aged care/retirement living setting.Detailed knowledge of the application use of CMMS (Computerised maintenance management system); training can be provided.We will create a better future for you!
