This is a permanent role working on a 7/7 shift roster, based in the Parkes region of central west NSW.
About the role This position is within the Asset Management Department reporting to the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Team Leader.
You will provide hands-on leadership to your team in both Production and Development underground mining work areas.
In this role you will allocate work, set priorities, and support your team by providing fault diagnosis expertise and effectively communicating with the mining team.
You will provide leadership to ensure the performance of the mobile equipment fleet supports business performance and Zero Harm operations at Northparkes.
Ensure the MEM fleet maintenance is carried out in a professional and efficient manner following sound workmanship standards focused on quality of repair.
Full use of site work management systems capturing all required workorder repair detail, material usage and defect reporting data.
Communication with the MEM Team leaders and maintenance planners around planned maintenance changes as they arise and updating of planned maintenance documentation as required.
Perform quarterly and heavy vehicle inspections as required to ensure the standards stipulated for vehicle condition and performance at NPO are upheld.
Ensure housekeeping in all responsible work areas and when maintaining the mobile equipment fleet is maintained to the highest standard.
All maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with NPO site safety standards and procedures ensuring zero harm.
About you Currently reside within the Parkes area or willing to relocate to Parkes/Forbes or the surrounding local government area.
Minimum of five (5) years post trade experience in a similar role within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
Plant Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic Trade qualification with experience in Underground mobile equipment maintenance.
Previous leadership experience.
Strong organisational and communication skills and people management qualities.
Strong commitment to safety as a way of work.
Current "C" Class Australian Drivers Licence.
