We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to maintain and optimise critical equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless production operations.
As a Maintenance Fitter, your role will be essential in maintaining the optimal uptime of our Wet manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for conducting both scheduled and emergency maintenance, supporting safety initiatives, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. This role also involves assisting with new equipment integration, providing staff training, and ensuring quality assurance standards are met.
Key Accountabilities:
Actively engage in and promote ITW's safety programs, ensuring compliance with all safety standards Perform maintenance tasks, both scheduled and unscheduled, on key machinery including Automated Packaging Systems, Moulding Machines, and Ancillary Equipment Review and analyse machinery and processes to identify and implement safety, productivity, and efficiency improvements Assist with the introduction and integration of new products and equipment, from initial stages through to commissioning and production handover Provide training to team members on safety protocols and competency in maintenance tasks Support and promote the company's QA policies, ensuring adherence to procedures Carry out additional tasks as directed by Supervisors, Managers, or the Manufacturing Manager About You; Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or extensive industry experience as a Fitter & Turner Certificate no. 8G – Gas Metal-Arc Welding (GMAW) of plate and pipe Fully qualified Fitter & Turner with expertise in welding, machining, pneumatics, and hydraulics Ability to work independently, showing initiative and flexibility Strong literacy and numeracy skills Effective interpersonal and communication skills Analytical mindset with the ability to assess and improve processes Proficient in PC usage Advantageous experience in: Die maintenance Plastic injection moulding Drawing packages Familiarity with MEX & Shiftworx Software systems Why Join Us?
