The Role: Due to an increased workload, we are looking to grow our Maintenance team and are looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to work our Nightshift.
The role is based on an equal time roster, allowing every second weekend at home: 4 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on, 4 days off.
On rostered days, shift hours will be from 6 PM to 4 AM.
This role could be the ideal next step for a qualified mechanic who still enjoys the mechanical side but is looking to get off the tools.
Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to: Oversee and coordinate the resolution of breakdowns on a national level, including diagnostics over the phone and ensuring timely responses.
Provide support for the CMT (Compliance Monitoring Team) with technical issues and repairs related to fridge motors.
Assist the NTO (National Transport Operations) with breakdowns, managing and resolving all types of breakdowns.
Work with depots and drivers to schedule and plan services for the following day.
Handle live repair requests, including taking repair requests from drivers and provide feedback as required.
Manage daily repair request email.
Oversee and respond to repair requests received via email on a daily basis.
Carry out administrative duties using TMT, ensuring smooth operation and organisation.
Manage and resolve issues related to fuel and respond to fuel spills promptly and effectively.
Perform repairs such as changing tyres and light bulbs to minimise breakdown costs.
About You: To succeed in this role, we anticipate you will be able to demonstrate: Must be a trade-qualified mechanic with strong mechanical skills and knowledge.
Kenworth and Thermoking experience essential.
A mature attitude with a logical and methodical approach to your work High level reasoning, problem solving and excellent organisational skills.
Exceptional communication skills with an ability to deal effectively with a diverse workforce.
Ability to manage your own time, meet deadlines and take responsibility for your output and the quality of your work.
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft office Prior experience in a similar role and industry highly regarded but not essential.
