About the role: We are currently recruiting for a Gardening and Maintenance Officer for a permanent part-time position in Ballina.
This role will look after day-to-day lawn mowing, gardening, cleaning and maintenance activities across our Retirement Village to ensure the building and grounds are always looking and operating at their absolute best.
Your responsibilities will be, but not limited to: Respond to maintenance requests in an efficient and timely manner Minor building repair works to building fixtures Maintenance of gardens, lawns, irrigation, and grounds including mulching, mowing and brushcutting Assist residents with minor maintenance works such as light globes, broken fly screens, minor lock repairs Cleaning of common areas and internal and external windows Setting up and taking down for special functions - such as a Village BBQ or morning tea Assist with safety inspections Other duties as directed by the Leader What are we looking for?
Verifiable experience in a maintenance/cleaning/gardening role in aged care/retirement living or similar setting would be desirable but not essential Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards sustained maintenance of building and grounds Sound understanding of the safe use of brush cutters, zero turns mowers etc Willing to learn about Aged Care and the principles guiding this sector Ability to interact with our residents on a day-to-day basis Full Clean Australian Driving License Hold/or willingness to undergo a National Police check Availability to work two days a week - ideally including a Friday (hours negotiable) RSL LifeCare offers a range of benefits including: Not-for-profit tax benefits - salary packaging of up to $15,900 per year.
