About the Role: This is a Full Time Fixed Term position from 3 March 2025 to cover parental leave for 12 months within the Medical Imaging Department. As part of the Division of Surgery, this position exists to provide a quality imaging service to patients and referrers. As a Grade 2 MRI Technologist (MRT), the required role includes performing paediatric MRI and to expand and improve current skills.
It is expected the Grade 2 MRT learns and applies specialist skills in paediatric MRI. An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, qualified Medical Imaging Technologist to join the team at the RCH. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in a Grade 2 capacity as per the attached position description, will ideally have Level 1 MRI accreditation (ASMIRT) and have formal or working towards Post Graduate MRI qualifications. Previous Paediatric experience in MRI would be highly desired but not essential. Our aim is to develop and nurture an expert paediatric imaging team.
The Royal Children's Hospital, together with the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) have Siemens Sola 1.5T and 3T Trio units in a purpose built MRI clinical and research facility. In the operating theatre suite there is an IMRIS Verio. A Siemens MR/PET is part of the suite of equipment, making the RCH a state of the art MRI facility. The position requires participation in the weekend and after hours rosters as well as some on-call after a suitable training period.
