Details of the offer

Contract to assist Department of Defence.
For technician or maintenance engineer interested in setting up and conducting trials in laboratories and outdoor ranges of prototype guided weapons.
Requires hands on experience welding and working in technical workshops and using power tools, and Australian Citizenship (for security clearances) Salary guide: up to $47 ph including supa and casual leave loading Edinburgh South Australia Initially the contract runs until 30th June, after that Government decides whether they would like to extend the project for another 12 months (This is standard policy for all of our Defence contracts).
We are in the 2nd offered extension for this project.
A normal day  Assist in the conduct of trials including pre-trial planning and post-trial activities.
Assist in developing Trial Plans to cover all logistical and safety requirements Participate in the setting up and conduct of experiments and trials in laboratories, specialist test facilities and on outdoor ranges.
This includes welding.
Assist in the maintenance of laboratories and equipment including calibration Undertake procurement and administrative functions in support of trial activities It's quite a physical role, mostly working in and around laboratories, and in the field, and outside of an office environment.
Your next employer... You'll be working with the R&D department for the Department of Defence, Defence Science Technology Group (DTSG).
DSTG is currently supporting research into guided weapons prototyping.
You'll need To be an Australian Citizen (a must) Ability to work at remote locations on occasions  Good mechanical aptitude and experience working in technical workshops Good aptitude in operating software applications Drivers licence You might also have a tertiary qualification in science or engineering, a trade certificate, a forklift licence, a doggers licence or a first aid certificate.
