Reporting to the Production Supervisor, as a Machine Operator your focus will be on operating a range of fixed and mobile plant in a dynamic environment to manufacture high-quality plaster products safely.
Based at our Yarraville Gyprock site and being a critical member of the wider team, you will participate in process improvement activities and safety projects, you will have experience operating a forklift.
To be successful in this role you must hold a current forklift licence, be engaging, have a great attitude, strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
Shift Pattern: 12 hour shifts rotating working day (06:00-18:00), and night (18:00-06:00).
Every 2nd weekend will be off – Fri, Sat and Sun.
Duties & Responsibilities: * Perform quality Prestart checklists * Operate various machines (including forklift) to achieve daily, weekly and monthly production targets * Improve and maintain daily production levels * Follow work instructions and procedures, specific checklist and accepted "best practices" * Ensure the highest quality of standards and production * Housekeeping and other duties as required * Participate in business and legislative training as required What you bring to the role: * A great work ethic and strong commitment to safe work practices & high regard for safety * Experience as an operator in a production line – highly desired however not essential * A current forklift license with experience – ESSENTIAL * Have a high attention to detail * Sound written and verbal communication skills * Computer literacy and experience with ERP / HMI – highly desired * Good mechanical minded and trouble shooting ability * Ability to interact well with others and join the team * The ability to multitask in a fast paced, ever-changing environment What we offer We strive to support your professional and personal growth.
