Position Overview: They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist & Project Manager to join their dynamic team in Sydney/Newcastle.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology, project management, and environmental consulting.
This role involves leading ecological assessments, managing projects, and providing expert advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and oversee ecological assessments, including flora and fauna surveys, habitat mapping, and biodiversity studies.
Manage multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
Prepare and review technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and management plans.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure project requirements are met.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior ecologists and project team members.
Stay updated with the latest ecological research, methodologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in ecological assessments and project management.
Strong knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and regulations.
Proven experience in managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in GIS and other ecological assessment tools.
BAM accreditation is highly desirable.
