The Social Support Group Assistant provides administrative and hands-on support to the Social Support Group Coordination Officer in delivering group activities for community members. The role involves assisting in the planning, organising, and execution of programs that foster social connections and improve participants' well-being.
What we are looking for: A. Program Support Assist the Social Support Group Coordination Officer in organising group activities, events, and outings. Help set up venues, arrange materials, and ensure all necessary resources are available for activities. Engage with participants, offering support and guidance to help them enjoy and benefit from the activities. B. Participant Interaction Help welcome participants and facilitate group discussions and activities. Provide assistance to individuals as needed, ensuring that they are comfortable and included in the group setting. Monitor participant well-being and report any concerns to the Coordination Officer. C. Administrative Tasks Assist in maintaining records such as attendance, activity schedules, and participant feedback. Help prepare activity plans and documentation for reports. Coordinate with volunteers and other staff members to ensure smooth program delivery. D. Community Engagement Support outreach efforts to increase participation and engagement in social support programs. The above list is not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of AVWA. Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.
Who you are: Experience in community services or similar support roles. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with participants from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work as part of a team and provide assistance in program coordination. Basic organizational skills and attention to detail for administrative tasks. The ability to speak a second language, especially East Timorese, Maltese, or Vietnamese, would be highly advantageous. Bilingual in Vietnamese and English.
