Logistics Supervisor - Country QLD Concrete and AggregatesJob category: Aggregates and QuarryingJob type: Permanent - Full timeAbout this roleLogistics Supervisor - Country QLD Concrete and Aggregates Superb opportunity within the world's leading sustainable building materials companyLocated at either Townsville or BrisbaneSupportive and diverse management setting realistic targets and goalsCompetitive remuneration including full use of company supplied vehicleThe Opportunity: Based out of Townsville or Rockhampton, you will be responsible for the effective supervision of Country Queensland Concrete and Aggregates Logistics resources from Bundaberg through to Cairns, ensuring that they are utilized to optimize the business's safety, financial, and operational results.
You will provide advice and feedback on transport operational issues to the Regional Logistics Managers for Concrete and Aggregates; maintain a safe system of work in the workplace and work with the Logistics, Operations, and Sales teams to identify the service levels required and to ensure that they are achieved.
Further and detailed accountabilities include:
Ensuring that the Operational Improvement Program is implemented, maintained, monitored, and improved.Actively assisting in achieving progressive cost reductions as per annual agreed targets.Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policy (e.g., Workplace Health and Safety Act).Maintaining working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Queensland transport rules and regulations.Coordinating Repairs and Maintenance where applicable to ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with relevant standards and maintenance procedures.Maintaining a high standard of community relationships within the local community by assisting with any community relations programs that may be implemented.Assisting the Regional Logistics Managers in achieving budgeted financial targets.About you: You are an experienced transport management professional with credible experience in fleet management in related industry environments. Your experience will ideally be in managing both contracted and company-owned fleets, and you will possess solid, practical skills and knowledge in developing fleet operational performance and capability.
As a confident frontline leader with hands-on operational experience in truck and fleet scheduling and coordination, you lead by example while promoting a zero-harm safety culture with further requirements to include:
Good written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Working knowledge of relevant legislation, HVNL, and Queensland transport rules and regulations.Solid knowledge of IT systems (SAP, Google preferred) to ensure all reporting and admin tasks are completed in a timely manner and required records are maintained.Assist with the rollout of IVMS and other projects as required.This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to our world-leading business.
