The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032.
This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North-West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes: • 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden • 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry • 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa • up to six new substation sites.
This exciting project has commenced, and we are currently looking for an experienced Logistics Lead with 3-5 years experience to join the team.
The role will be based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane initially and will transition to site on a 15/6 FIFO roster.
Working with guidance from the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Lead is responsible for managing logistics operations for projects in the Townsville to Mount Isa region, ensuring high-quality service delivery to construction and field teams.
You will also be responsible for promoting safety, quality assurance, and effective communication to achieve safe and efficient project logistics.
What will a day in this role look like: · Oversee logistics performance, yard safety, and compliance with HVNL, Chain of Responsibility, and Management Plans.
· Ensure timely and high-quality execution of jobs to meet the expectations of stakeholders, including the Logistics Manager, Project Manager, and client.
· Continuously monitor, evaluate, and update site-specific systems and procedures to align with best practices.
· Maintain and promote a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety programs and contributing to safe working procedures.
· Liaise with site contacts and project personnel, providing updates, reports, and records to the Logistics Manager.

What are we looking for you to bring to the team: · At least 5 years of experience in major project delivery, including 2 years in a supervisory role, with expertise in Chain of Responsibility and Heavy Vehicle National Law.
· Strong leadership skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· Valid Driver's License.
· Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
· Experience with logistics and warehousing tools is beneficial.
The successful applicant will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing).
