What you will be responsible for: Lead and manage 3 shipping team members, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring targets are met. Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and performance feedback to team members. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement. Co-ordinate and oversee all logistics and shipping activities including reporting. Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of products, and communicate effectively where required due to delays. Analyse logistics and shipping processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and service quality. Develop and implement contingency plans to address unexpected challenges to minimize impact on Vulcan's operations. Monitor key performance indicators such as shipping and documentation accuracy, and lead times, identifying potential risks and possible solutions. Ensure supplier evaluations are complete. Track and analyse data related to logistics and shipping operations, providing reports on performance, costs, and opportunities for improvement. Qualifications: Strong leadership and team management skills. Experience in logistics/shipping and/or supply chain. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and divisions. Out-of-the-box thinker with the ability to problem solve. Attention to detail. Customer-focused. Computer literacy, proficiency with MS Office, especially Outlook and Excel. Highly developed time management, organisational, and numerical skills. Ability to set priorities, monitor workflow, and improve efficiency of work practices. Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
