Description About the role We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Planning and Advisory team in QLD to work on a range of exciting projects in Brisbane and across Australia. You will be responsible for undertaking a range of responsibilities, from problem solving and innovation, information analysis, report writing and client engagement and liaison.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the foremost traffic and transport experts in Australia. Your role will also involve working across disciplines within our transportation team including engineering, design and analytics.
Day to day tasks would involve: Undertake site inspections and gather base information on parking controls, road widths, location of services, parking facilities and other such features. Plan, supervise and conduct traffic and parking surveys (includes work on weekends and after hours as required). Prepare and administer questionnaires. Analyse traffic and parking data using Excel, Sidra and simulation models. Assess and design road, intersection and parking layouts, including spaces, aisles and grades. Prepare draft report and other correspondence as directed. To be successful for this role you'll need: Tertiary qualification in Transport and/or Urban Planning. Proven experience in transport planning. Ability to engage effectively, be hands-on and driven to deliver, especially government projects. Ability to describe complex transport issues in an easy to understand and presentable manner. Desire to work across multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in data extraction, evaluation and analysis. GIS skills (ArcGIS) (desirable).
