Locum Consultant – Year 1 to Year 9This is a Fixed Term Part Time position 0.10 EFT/ 7 hours per fortnight from 30th January 2025 to 20th November 2026, within the Department of General Medicine.
0.1- Weekly outpatient clinic – Thursday PM
You will be responsible for:Clinical Services – OutpatientsDelivery of a weekly outpatient clinicEnsuring timely review and required actioning of any ordered pathology/radiology/other testing with a commitment to best practice care.Non-ClinicalTimely and accurate completion of patient related documentation, including EMR encounters, outpatient documentation and any other required documentation relevant to enhancing continuity of careQualityUtilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planningActively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practicesEducationUndertake continuing education opportunities to foster safe clinical practice, quality initiative and researchUndertake supervision and education within the clinical environment of Fellows, Registrars, Undergraduate medical students and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice (where applicable)Performance ReviewParticipate in self-reflective practiceYour skills and experience:MBBS (or equivalent)FRACP – General Paediatrics (or equivalent)Specialist Registration with AHPRA and eligibility for medical registration within VictoriaPrevious experience delivering inpatient care at a tertiary hospitalIf this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.
About General MedicineThe Department of General Medicine is one of the largest departments at RCH. At any time, a total of 91 staff (Senior Medical, Junior Medical, Nursing, and Administrative) work in the Department. The Department of General Medicine has a range of sub-specialty interests in addition to General Paediatrics and is committed to the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care. There are 3 subspecialty units within it, including Rheumatology, Refugee/Migrant Health and Clinical Pharmacology. All units report to the Director of General Medicine.
