UnitingCare Family and Disability Services (Foster and Kinship Care Program) are currently seeking a Local Service Manager to join our Cairns team on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding and challenging role where you will have a significant opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children, young people, carers and families. 
The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day operations of the service and provide professional leadership to employees with emphasis on delivery of high-quality, best practice service delivery to carer families and young people.
The role: Provide line management and practice supervision, leadership and guidance to service delivery employees. Work within relevant quality and risk frameworks and guidelines in accordance with relevant standards to ensure delivery of high-quality services, respect of client's rights and confidentiality. Manage the program within budget and in consultation with the State-Wide Manager, contribute to the budget planning cycle with specified accountability requirements What makes a difference for us?  The successful candidate will ideally present with the following:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology or Social Science) Lesser formal qualifications with acquisition of considerable skills and extensive and diverse relevant experience to an equivalent standard. Significant experience in Child protection and delivering Foster and Kinship Care services to children and families. Demonstrated experience in leading a team to achieve service performance outcomes together with an ability to provide quality supervision and training. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders A current Blue Card or willingness to make an application for one Must also be willing to undergo a personal history checks under the provision of the Child Protection Act 1999 in relation to Licensing of Care Services Applicants must be willing to travel within the region which covers from Tully to Mossman and across the Atherton Tablelands.
