The Council of the Shire of Meekatharra is seeking the services of a highly experienced local government leader who has previously worked in remote and challenging local governments in Western Australia.
The Shire of Meekatharra is situated 764 kilometres from Perth, covers an area of 100,733 square kilometres, and has an estimated population of 1,200. Situated on the Great Northern Highway in the Murchison - East Gascoyne region of the state, Meekatharra is the centre of a mining and cattle district.
As Chief Executive Officer, you will have overall corporate responsibility for the organisation. You will foster a customer service focus, a positive team culture, a cohesive relationship with Council and the community, and be the basis for efficient planning and delivery of services provided by the Shire.
You will help Council create a vision for the townsite and district, overseeing larger Shire projects, which will grow the town's attractiveness and, ultimately, population, whilst acting as the face of the organisation in the community.
A performance-based contract up to 5-years will be negotiated, which includes an attractive remuneration package in the range of $175,105 and $288,817 , including a negotiable cash component, five (5) weeks annual leave, additional superannuation via co-contribution, unrestricted business and private use of a vehicle, rent-free housing, yard maintenance, and utilities supplied. An additional regional / isolation allowance may be payable.
