Networks & Systems Administration (Information & Communication Technology) Full time Calytrix Technologies is an Australian company specialising in the delivery of software, systems, and training support services to the Australian and international defence community.
Calytrix has more than a decade of experience designing and delivering complex training events having delivered over 125 training activities involving military, government agencies, OGOs, UN agencies and emergency responders.
Calytrix has been intimately involved with ADF training since 2007 and remains an integral component of Headquarter Joint Operations Command's (HQ JOC) joint and collective training capability.
We are increasing our simulation support capabilities to the ADF's Core Simulation Capability.
This group is responsible for delivering simulation services to make the Joint Collective Training environment as real and accessible as possible.
Calytrix is seeking simulation professionals who will be responsible for the system design, configuration, documentation, operation, and support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) based systems.
May be required to provide team leader functions, if this is required the appropriate support and/or training will be provided.Comply with established Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Policy.Performs work in production and non-production environments.Manages and documents the configuration of Linux based systems.Manages and configures virtual machines supporting simulation applications.Performs audits of hardware and software and manages storage and backup.Applies operating system updates, patches and configuration changes.Adds, removes or updates user account information, including password resets.Optimise the performance of the system.Utilise ITSM tools, monitors tools routinely, responds to ticketing & scheduling priorities, annotates tickets with meaningful commentary, reassigns with approval and marks 'complete' using standard criteria.Analyses system logs, identifies potential issues, and troubleshoots reported problems.Resource may be required to undertake travel.About You: The successful candidate/s will have some experience with:
5+ years relevant IT industry experience, military experience, or combination of the two.Hold a Red Hat Certified System Administrator credential.
Alternatively, a Tertiary Degree or Vocational qualifications in a closely related discipline.Experience in system administration of Linux environments, ideally in environments also including Windows/Windows Server.Hold an ITIL certification, or have a thorough understanding of service design and experience in ITIL service management practices and the ITIL service design model.Experience with manipulation of SQL/MYSQL, MSSQL or Oracle databases, and a thorough understanding of database technologies and developing code in a network environment.The ability to deploy to ADF establishments in support of military exercises and liaise with other areas of Defence.Some knowledge of Defence training processes would be desirable.A minimum NV1 Security Clearance with an ability to upgrade to NV2.
