Your new role
The Design Engineer role is an exciting chance to shape the future of electrical distribution. You'll create designs for underground and overhead systems for top clients, manage urban projects, and work with a great team. You'll ensure projects are high-quality and delivered on time, help prepare quotes, and provide technical advice. Building strong client relationships to drive positive change and secure new projects is also key. Plus, you'll take on various tasks to keep your work interesting.
As a Line Surveyor, you'll conduct detailed site surveys to map out overhead distribution lines. You'll use survey instruments and software, perform design calculations, and produce fieldnotes. You'll identify powerline conductors accurately and balance office and fieldwork. This role offers a mix of technical challenge and fieldwork excitement, with opportunities to take on different tasks that keep your job fresh and rewarding.
What you will need to succeed
Design Engineer:
Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent experience (3-5 years).Ideally, design accreditation with Victorian Network Services Providers.Experience in underground design with utilities or private developers.Knowledge of electrical equipment, circuitry, and design.Preferably experienced in lighting design (AS1158) and private electrical reticulation systems (AS3000).The ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.Line Surveyor:
Over 3 years' experience in electrical distribution line surveys.Certification in Surveying (minimum Diploma).Proficiency in overhead line surveys and clearance calculations using nPoles.Competence in surveying software and current survey equipment.Experience with total station, GPS, machine guidance, and laser scanning technologies.Both Roles:
Experience with AutoCAD is desirable.VESI Accreditation Technical Officer / Maintenance Worker preferred.Proficiency in OH design software, like Poles n Wires or nPoles.Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.Integrity, honesty, and compliance with internal policies.Strong commitment to client satisfaction and company performance.Willingness to learn and improve capabilities.Valid Australian Driving Licence.Strong safety awareness.
