As a Life Insurance Lawyer, you will provide in-house legal, regulatory and governance advice to Zurich's businesses in Australia, with a particular focus on the Zurich life insurance business, to enable them to achieve their strategic and commercial goals, protect and preserve the company's assets, and identify, manage, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
You will use your knowledge of the Corporations Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Life Insurance Act, Superannuation Laws and other legislation relevant to a financial services business, to provide advice in relation to life insurance products, policy documents, agreements, incidents, breach reporting, and remediation. You will assist with regulatory dealings and investigations; review disclose material and evaluate litigation risks and exposures.
Please note this is a 12-month contract role.
Important to your success - let's grow together
Recognised Australian legal qualifications and eligible to practice law in New South Wales.
5+ years PQE experience across life insurance law, including financial services law more broadly, and general and commercial law disciplines.
Ability to receive instructions, analytically assess issues and communicate advice clearly and in a non-legalistic way.
Strong written communications skills and ability to produce a variety of documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain trustful, working relationships at all levels of the organisation; able to demonstrate professional and tactful customer relationship skills.
