Purpose of Role Reporting to the Head of Carey Libraries, the Library Technician will work collaboratively with the Centre for Learning and Innovation (CLI) team and wider Carey Libraries' staff on the continual development and maintenance of the library's physical and online collections.
The Library Technician provides support to library users, ensuring easy access to resources, maintenance of the library spaces and assistance with the management and supervision of students.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience ALIA accredited Diploma of Library and Information Services Previous experience using a library management system for cataloguing, including records download Experience in a busy school environment supervising and assisting students to undertake sustained, focused individual silent study and cooperative group learning Experience in operating a busy library help desk to provide client-focused support, guidance and referral A valid Employee Working With Children Check is a requirement of employment in this position.
This role is primarily based at the Kew campus; however, there may be a requirement to move between libraries and campuses.
The Library Technician is required to work 41 weeks of the year (Term-time + 2 weeks) so you can enjoy most of the school holidays!
