Exciting Opportunity: Workshop Engineer (Agricultural) - Newport, Shropshire Do you have a passion for Agriculture and Food Manufacturing, and do you have previous Workshop/Agricultural Engineering experience?
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Workshop Engineer to join a food manufacturing business in Newport (Shropshire) and work within the Agricultural Workshop carrying out Mechanical maintenance duties on Agricultural Machinery and Equipment.
The hiring manager is looking for someone who has previous experience with Hydraulics, Low Voltage Electrics, and pneumatics; previous MIG/TIG Welding experience is preferred but not essential.
The working hours are 8am-6pm Monday to Friday, and during the peak season you would be required to work on a Saturday (which will be on a rotating rota basis). The salary for this role is up to £45,000 per annum basic, and any hours worked over 48 hours will be paid at T1/4 overtime premium.
This role would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as a Workshop Engineer, Farm Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Service Engineer, or Field Service Engineer within an Agricultural or Food Manufacturing business.
What You Will Do: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of agricultural equipment, ensuring optimal performance. Conduct thorough inspections and replace machinery in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines. Demonstrate exceptional skill and aptitude in machining parts and constructing new machines within the workshop environment. Test machines' low voltage electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, accurately recording findings. Assist in the development and enhancement of existing and new machinery, contributing to innovation. Uphold the highest standards of health and safety, promptly reporting any concerns to ensure a safe working environment for all. What You Will Bring: Previous experience within a similar role/sector. Previous experience with Hydraulics, Low Voltage Electrics, and pneumatics. A strong ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks safely and effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail. A commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks undertaken. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and support new team members. Location: Newport, Shropshire.
