About the Role
The Level 3 MSP Technical Engineer will be pivotal in managing the performance and stability of our clients' multi-tenanted Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix workloads within an MSP framework. The successful candidate will bring substantial expertise, particularly in administering Microsoft solutions, Citrix environments, and complex infrastructure technologies, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities Designing and deploying Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop environments. Managing and maintaining Citrix Cloud (DaaS) multi-tenant environments. Administering Citrix virtual applications and desktops. Troubleshooting Citrix-related issues and optimising Citrix policies and profiles. Monitoring Citrix performance for capacity planning and ensuring high availability. Maintaining compliance with security and regulatory requirements. Providing technical support and training to end users. Expertise with FSLogix (Profile Management) and Citrix Workspace Environment Manager. Performing Citrix Virtual Delivery Agent upgrades and rollups. Familiarity with Citrix Cloud Connector setup, Citrix Network Location setup with DaaS, and Citrix Cloud architecture features such as Rendezvous. Experience in eG Innovations monitoring (advantageous). Managing Citrix Cloud environment migrations. Microsoft Hyper-V Management :
Design, implement, and oversee multi-tenanted Hyper-V environments. Troubleshoot and optimise virtual machines, storage, and networking for service continuity. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery through robust failover cluster management. Infrastructure Technology :
Oversee and optimise data centre environments, focusing on redundancy, security, and performance. Implement and manage storage solutions, particularly Dell PowerEdge Server and PowerStore SAN technologies. Perform host and SAN equipment patching in a 24/7 environment to ensure systems are secure and up-to-date. Veeam Backup and Replication :
Thorough understanding of Veeam Backup and Replication, including Cloud Connect Servers and management through the Veeam Service Provider Console. Outsourced NOC Escalations :
Oversee outsourced NOC escalations, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues and maintaining a high standard of service delivery. Advanced Server Configuration and Administration :
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2022 environments. Manage Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, Azure AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS-R, and Group Policy. Cybersecurity Leadership :
Lead security operations, including vulnerability management, incident response, and disaster recovery planning. Implement security controls and collaborate on cybersecurity strategy development. Provide level 3 escalated support, ensuring optimal service delivery and client satisfaction. Engage directly with clients, ensuring proactive communication and issue resolution. Documentation and Compliance :
Maintain comprehensive system documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Skills and Experience Mastery in Citrix solution design, deployment, and management. Proficiency in Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including multi-tenancy and disaster recovery. Extensive experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365. Citrix Certified Associate (CCA) or equivalent certification. Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure). Familiarity with IT service management tools (Kaseya, ConnectWise, N-Central, Datto, IT Glue, etc.). Experience with Fortinet technology and NSE1-4 certifications. Knowledge of networking (DNS, DHCP, switching, routing, and security). Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving skills and technical research capabilities.
