The position of Director Development and Community reports to the CEO and is a member of the City's executive leadership team. We are seeking a strategically focused leader to effectively manage this exciting portfolio of accountabilities:
Strategic and Statutory PlanningBuildingCommunity DevelopmentCommunity Health and SafetyEconomic SupportOn behalf of the City, we are interested in people with comprehensive experience and qualifications aligned with at least one of the portfolios above. This may be in the town planning profession, community development, building, business or economic development. Ideally, you are an experienced Executive Manager or Director aiming to advance your career in a Local Government that plays an important role right across the community; urban, commercial, industrial and the region's very important mining industry.
Naturally, we expect to appoint someone with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, excellent judgement and decision-making capability, and well-developed relationship development/stakeholder engagement skills. You should be capable of contributing as a member of the executive leadership team and regularly engaging with and advising Council.
