We are currently on the lookout for multiple Leisure Services Officers | Lifeguards to join the team throughout our busy summer period.
Flexible working options can be offered as shifts range from early mornings, midday and evenings.
Lifeguards provide a key contribution to the operation of the Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC) and Council's outdoor pools.
The lifeguard is responsible for the supervision, safety, cleaning, and operation of these swimming pools.
Lifeguards are responsible to provide specialist surveillance, advice, supervision, safety, first aid, and rescue services to pool patrons (proactive and reactive) to educate and prevent loss of life by drowning and/or injury to the public.
Attendance at regular professional development sessions and the ability to communicate in a positive manner with the broader community as a representative of Council are key to this role.
Lifeguard and First Aid courses are available in Hamilton.
