About the role
In this role you will be working in an Aquatic Leisure Centre team to deliver and supervise aquatic spaces and programs. Qualified and or experienced applicants are preferred.
Key responsibilities include: Provide a standard of supervision, education and care which is in accordance with the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations. Maintain compliance with current Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations. Ensure area of responsibility is covered by another qualified lifeguard when required to be away from active scanning. Provide first aid and emergency care. Perform water rescues. Facilitate a safe and enjoyable environment through prevention, patron education and safety. Regular safety checks of isolated areas as per deployment plan. Periodic checks of saunas and spas to ensure only members and paying casuals are using them. Completion of administrative reports as required, including first aid reports and hazard identification reports. Attend training and maintain qualifications in line with peak industry body recommendations/guidelines. Attend professional development sessions as directed by The City. About you
The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced in running the day-to-day operations of a Leisure Centre. You will have high levels of attention to detail and resilience, enjoy finding practical solutions to complex problems, with a safety first and professional approach to your work.
Essential: Understanding of the leisure industry and its commercial orientation. Knowledge of swimming and lifesaving techniques and RLSSA awards and practices in relation to aquatic activities. The ability to work evenings and weekends. Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR and Pool Lifeguard certificate. Current (employee) Working with Children's Check.
