Intellectual Property Procurement & Portfolio Management | Melbourne Metropolitan Closing date: 12/10/2024 About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a legal secretary to join K&L Gates on a full-time basis. This role will support our Intellectual Property practice across all aspects of administration. K&L Gates' Intellectual Property practice work in protecting and enforcing patents, trade marks, designs, copyright, and other rights. The practice continues to grow at a significant rate, making it an exciting time to join the team.

What does the role involve? You will work closely alongside other secretaries to manage all aspects of administration, ensuring the practice runs smoothly and supporting the partners and lawyers within the practice. You will also work closely with the team's billing specialist to assist with the monthly billing process and associated tasks.
On any given day you could be:
Handling confidential information and opening new matters Inputting and maintaining client data into client relationship software (Interaction) Assisting with client queries Drafting general correspondence to clients Managing the team's filing including electronic files Diary management Supporting the billing specialist with the associated administrative tasks About you To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter who works efficiently, uses initiative and has exemplary attention to detail. You are organised, practical and proactive in your approach and thrive on working in a team environment. Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, as are excellent communication skills. You will be capable using automated billing systems and client relationship management software (Elite 3E and InterAction preferred).
Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a legal secretary or experience in an administration role, having previously managed a high volume billing process.
