ATSILS seeks two (2) skilled Legal Practitioners in Criminal Law. Our dedicated workplace supports many, with strong services in the youth jurisdiction. Provide high-quality legal representation to clients in a variety of teams, based in any Queensland location with significant expectation of legal services to Regional and Remote Offices throughout Queensland. The ability to travel by road, air, and in rare cases short sea trips will be essential for this role. It is estimated that 50% of work time will involve travel for extended periods, some of which are in remote locations.
To be successful in this role, you will need at least five years' PAE experience, or other demonstrated advocacy experience, resilience for a range of complex work, and the ability to develop culturally competent service skills. Your experience with both Duty Lawyer type responsibilities and Hearings will be a distinct advantage, as will provision of service in the youth jurisdiction. Court Support Officers and our Administration Staff provide extensive service to this role and know our communities well.
Our Workforce Development Strategy will enable you to undertake both team and formal training to succeed. We will interview promptly and look to candidates who can commence within seven weeks of interview.
