As they continue to expand their operations in Australia, they are seeking a dynamic Legal Counsel specialising in Projects & Energy Transition to join their team.
In this key role, you will provide strategic legal support across a diverse range of high-profile energy and infrastructure projects.
Your expertise will be crucial in managing the legal aspects of these projects, from early development stages through to execution and completion.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of renewable energy while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice on complex energy projects, including wind, solar, and energy storage.
Draft and negotiate contracts and agreements for energy and infrastructure projects.
Advise on regulatory compliance and evolving energy policies.
Manage legal risks associated with large-scale project development.
Support project financing, including structuring and negotiations.
Liaise with external legal advisors, government agencies, and stakeholders.
Oversee contract management, including dispute resolution processes.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Advise on intellectual property and technology-related agreements.
Support procurement and supply chain legal matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery.
Monitor and advise on developments in international energy law.
Provide training on relevant legal issues to project teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
Admission as a lawyer in Australia.
Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in energy, infrastructure, or large-scale projects.
Extensive knowledge of Australian energy and environmental laws.
Proven experience in contract negotiation and project management.
Strong understanding of renewable energy projects and infrastructure.
Experience in regulatory compliance within the energy sector.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a matrix organisation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
