Legal Counsel
to join the Centennial team and support a broad scope of legal, compliance and corporate governance matters.This opportunity, working in-house from our Sydney CBD corporate office, is a perfect next career step for a proficient and analytical legal professional to assist with a range of legal matters and work in alignment with the executive management team and key internal and external counsel.
Reporting to the Executive General Counsel, you will be responsible forAssisting in the management and conduct of legal, governance and regulatory matters affecting the Centennial GroupAssisting in providing legal advice to management and the various business units within the Group on a broad range of matters, including transactional matters, operational projects, sales and marketing, joint ventures, environment and approvals, mining, and property, WHS, procurement and complianceDrafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreementsEnsuring management is kept up to date about significant legal and regulatory developments that may affect the Group's businessAssisting with ongoing legal compliance training within the GroupCoordinating and managing external lawyersWorking in a proactive, collaborative manner to identify and manage legal risk and requirements in key business activitiesCentennial is offeringPermanent full-time positionAttractive salary packageCareer development and training opportunitiesSalary sacrifice optionsSuitable candidates will haveTertiary level Legal qualificationsMinimum 6 years' experience in a reputable law firm or in-house teamStrong commercial acumen and document drafting and review skillsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work autonomously, as well as with others as an effective team member, and the ability to manage external stakeholdersEfficient organisation skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesPrevious in-house or secondment experience preferredExperience in the mining or energy and resources industries will be highly regardedAbout CentennialCentennial Coal Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Asia's largest independent Energy Group, Banpu Public Company Limited.
