Legal Counsel - Joint Venture Management

About the Role:
As a Legal Counsel - Joint Venture Management at Strike Energy, you will play a crucial role in both legal and joint venture management functions. You will provide comprehensive legal support to the General Counsel and assist in managing the Company's role and function as the Operator of the West Erregulla Joint Venture. This dual-focus role requires a professional who can effectively balance legal responsibilities with the administrative, contractual and strategic demands of joint venture management.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Joint Venture Management Support (Reporting to Chief Development Officer):
Assist in managing and administering the Company's role as Operator of the West Erregulla Joint Venture.
Coordinate and participate in Operating, Technical, and other JV Committee meetings.
Prepare and coordinate documentation for JV Committees and participants.
Ensure compliance with the Operator's duties and obligations under joint venture agreements.
Provide secretarial services to Operating, Technical, and other JV Committees as needed.
Support the Chief Development Officer in managing the Company's joint venture interests.
Legal Support (Reporting to General Counsel):
Provide legal advice and support to the General Counsel.
Assist in the preparation, review, and negotiation of contracts, and oversee contract administration.
Manage relationships with external legal providers.
Support the General Counsel in executing their executive functions.
Undertake other legal tasks as required by the General Counsel.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the energy or resources sector. We are seeking someone who is a strong team player and able to simultaneously manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in their day-to-day work.
Ideally you will also demonstrate:
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent; admission to practice law in Australia.
Strong understanding of joint venture operations and management.
Excellent contract negotiation and drafting skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
