Civium Property Group, a leading national real estate company with offices in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, is seeking an in-house lawyer to join our team working from the Canberra office. This role will be responsible for overseeing legal risk management controls across the company portfolio including Strata, Commercial, and Residential property services.
Key Responsibilities Enhance critical processes to drive efficiencies and maximise business impact.Refine and revamp corporate policies, procedures and compliance to align with the future of real estate.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to compliance, M&A, legal operations, data privacy, litigation, corporate governance, and employment.Drafting and negotiating transaction documents, ensuring protection of legal and commercial interests.Risk and Compliance Management.Conducting detailed contract reviews, identifying potential risks, and proposing mitigation strategies.Providing strategic legal advice to support business operations and safeguard company interests.Key Requirements A law degree and admission to practice in Australia.A minimum of 3 years of post-admission experience (PAE), ideally within the property sector.A client-focused mindset with strong commercial acumen, adaptability, and the ability to hit the ground running.Excellent academic credentials and exceptional written and oral communication skills.Outstanding organisational and project management abilities.Proven ability to build strong relationships and partner effectively with stakeholders.Excellent attention to detail.A proactive, enthusiastic, and positive approach.Competency with digital tools and technology.Employee Benefits A supportive culture focused on work-life balance.Regular social and client events.Long-term career stability.Access to a rewards and discounted shopping program.EAP.At Civium, we strive to create an environment that brings out the best in our people by fostering a safe, connected, and innovative culture that supports ongoing growth and development.
