Job OverviewAs a Legal Counsel on the ANZ Legal Team, you will leverage your strong experience in financial services and consumer finance legislation and transactional matters, working directly with the business with the guidance and support of the General Counsel, ANZ. In this role you will work across all business units – providing legal support.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport our commercial, product, finance, compliance and executive teams to sustainably and compliantly grow the Zip business.Apply your legal expertise to solve complex problems that positively impact our customers and partners.Work flexibly, as part of a collaborative and high-calibre team.Advise the Product, Marketing, Operations and Financial Crime Compliance teams on core regulatory obligations.Provide concise and strategically focussed regulatory advice for the life cycle of Zip products (including for product launches and updates required due to strategic or regulatory changes).Assist on all regulatory areas that Zip's business touches on including, but not limited to, consumer credit (NCCPA and ASIC Act), financial services and licensing requirements (including ACL and AFSL), privacy (Privacy Act and Spam Act), AML/CTF, and other payment regulations and industry codes of conduct.Manage external law firms in their provision of legal advice.Have a deep understanding of Zip's products and business operations.What You'll Bring to the Team5-7 or more years of prior legal experience from a top-tier law firm and/or in-house counsel position.Experience with fintech, consumer finance and regulatory laws/regimes in AU (and New Zealand is a plus).Strong internal and external client interfacing skills.Ability to work autonomously and prioritize a workload in a fast-paced culture while delivering sound legal advice.A can-do attitude and solutions to the table.An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.Our values in your DNA: Customer First, Own It, Stronger Together and Change the Game.What You'll Get in ReturnAs we write this next exciting chapter in our story, we will continue to move at pace and embrace change.
