They have an open management structure promoting diversity, inclusion and flexibility in the workplace.About the role:A newly created role exists for a 2–3 year PQE lawyer to join the legal team. The position is suited to someone with a passion for the construction industry, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role reports to the Legal Counsel and involves collaboration with other senior stakeholders. The main focus of the role is front end advisory - advising on, drafting and negotiating consultancy contracts and any related transaction documents (novations/deeds/forms of certificates). There will also be some back-end/dispute resolution and general commercial advice to support the business. Regulatory and compliance advice to support the business is also part of the role – including periodic updates as required on any changing legal and legislative matters.Duties and responsibilities:Providing advice on construction/consultancy industry legal and regulatory issues.Assisting in provision of advice on new or more complex legal and regulatory issues in consultation with other more senior Corporate Counsel.Advising on, negotiating and drafting consultancy contracts.Reviewing correspondence, advertising and/or other material to ensure the organisation minimises and mitigates its exposure to legal liabilities or claims.Assisting in the management of litigation and disputes - advising on customer complaints and assisting with complaints from regulators.Assisting in the development of training programmes for non-legal staff on relevant legal issues.Identifying, escalating and seeking guidance on significant risks.About you:Tertiary law degree and current practicing certificate.At least 2 - 3 years PQE in construction law.Front end experience in construction law - drafting, negotiating and reviewing legal documents.Back end experience in construction law – providing clear and commercial advice in relation to disputes and litigated matters.Experience in identifying and interpreting guidelines, applying legislation, procedures and processes accurately within required timeframes.Demonstrable professionalism in maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.High degree of professional ethics, confidentiality and integrity.Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information.Proactively solves problems and makes decisions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.What's in it for you?Our client is proud of their collaborative culture and support of employees.
