About the Role The primary focus is providing support to the Head Legal ANZ and providing legal and compliance services to Swiss Re's (re)insurance operations in ANZ, which includes life and health reinsurance, property & casualty reinsurance, as well as direct general insurance. This involves identifying and managing legal and compliance risks in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities will include: Providing strategic legal advice, clearly articulating legal and compliance risks and opportunities; Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and legal documents, including re/insurance agreements; Performing legal research and preparing legal opinions; Assisting with corporate secretarial services for local Boards; Managing legal aspects of projects, regulatory changes, and strategic initiatives within ANZ; Collaborating with regional and global legal teams on projects and common legal risks; Developing and implementing efficient legal practices, conducting training, and managing outside counsel relationships. About You Qualified Australian lawyer with a current NSW Practicing Certificate; Proven experience in top-tier legal firms or in-house legal teams, specialising in financial services, re/insurance, and regulatory matters; Track record of managing complex workloads, competing priorities, and multiple projects across multidisciplinary teams and jurisdictions; Strong collaboration skills, working effectively within teams and with internal and external stakeholders, including advising and instructing external counsel across ANZ; Demonstrates accountability, resilience, and flexibility, with a proactive approach to new ideas and solutions; Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
