About the clientOur client is a peak industry association based in New South Wales with a substantial membership and a significant profile in the community. About the roleReporting to a supportive and friendly Chief Legal & Risk Officer & General Counsel, your diverse range of duties will include:Negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial agreementsCompany Secretarial & Governance DutiesConvening and administering board and committee meetingsAdvise on a regulatory and compliance mattersProvide legal input into commercial projects and initiatives including risk managementAdvising on commercial law, data and privacy, intellectual property, promotions and advertisingDirect and manage external lawyers to achieve cost effective solutionsAbout you The ideal candidate will be a 3 year + commercial lawyer with strong drafting, analytical, communication and problem solving skills. A strong contract law background is essential. Proven experience advising on commercial contracts and the confidence to conduct negotiations is required. Any prior governance and company secretarial experience is highly regarded. An interest in getting involved in the governance area is required.A pragmatic, practical approach and the ability to work within tight deadlines while managing multiple stakeholders is essential.
