The Legal Counsel plays a vital role in managing legal risks and ensuring compliance in the Australian and New Zealand markets. This position supports the Senior Legal Counsel and collaborates with various internal stakeholders. Permanent Full-time role, located in Norwest, Sydney. This role will enable you to learn and deliver:Legal risk management, identify legal issues and advise on risk mitigation.Strategic legal advice, provide insights on legal matters to inform strategic decisions.Stakeholder engagement, collaborate with teams to integrate legal considerations into operations.Regulatory compliance, stay updated on laws and regulations to ensure adherence.Principle AccountabilitiesLegal, Regulatory and Compliance:Advise on tobacco control and next-generation-product laws.Review and negotiate customer and supplier contracts.Support compliance with industry legislation, competition law and data protection.Monitor the legal environment for risks and mitigation strategies, support drafting of regulatory submissions.Performance IndicatorsEffectively mitigate and manage legal risks in the market.Resolve disputes and issues promptly and commercially.Deliver tailored, accurate legal advice to support business strategy.Skills and Experience RequiredAustralian qualified lawyer with 3-4 years PQE.Ability to navigate legal/commercial processes, regulatory law, commercial contract law, Australian competition and consumer law.Background in a respected law firm, or in-house at an FMCG/large organisation.Stakeholder Management, proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders.Commercial Awareness, guide and influence teams, communicate at all levels.Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.What We OfferHybrid/flexible working opportunities as well as inspiring places to work and collaborate with purpose.
