Ansarada Group Limited ("Ansarada") is looking for a Legal Counsel with a primary focus on commercial transactions and privacy law. What's the job about? This role offers an exceptional opportunity to join Ansarada's dynamic legal team, supporting a growing SaaS company at the forefront of technology and compliance. As a Legal Counsel with us, you'll collaborate across all levels of the business, engaging in high-impact projects that span contract negotiations, risk assessments, data privacy, and compliance policies. You'll have the autonomy to manage projects independently while being a trusted advisor to our internal teams on a range of legal matters that are essential to our business operations and growth. Reporting directly to the Associate General Counsel with a dotted line to our CFO, this role offers visibility and the chance to expand your expertise in both legal and business functions within a global context. Some of the key activities you will be performing in this role are:

Negotiate various agreements with external customers for a SaaS company, including understanding ROI, business cases, and providing sales support.
Review and negotiate vendor agreements, such as license agreements, ensuring understanding of risk assessments, cross-border agreements, and jurisdictional requirements.
Collaborate with the Security and Compliance team to complete customer due diligence questionnaires and address compliance inquiries.
Provide legal and business counsel across all functional areas within Ansarada, helping resolve issues, identifying risks, and making informed recommendations.
Draft a wide range of legal documents, including letters, memos, contracts, licenses, policies, and presentations to fulfill internal and external obligations.
Ensure agreements adhere to corporate risk parameters, signing authorities, and incorporate input from relevant functions/teams.
Assist with negotiating customer, vendor, and employee disputes, while liaising with outside counsel as needed.
Apply broad legal knowledge to successfully lead and complete projects, while continuously expanding expertise in legal principles and industry trends.
Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments that could impact the organization.
Actively participate in the legal team, supporting the General Counsel and contributing to a wide variety of legal projects.
Experience that will help you achieve success in this role:

Relevant experience in commercial transactions and satisfying customer due diligence requirements.
Good working knowledge of global data protection laws (GDPR, Australian Privacy Principles, LGPD etc) with a strong emphasis on the Australian Privacy Act, Privacy Principles and other state and territorial requirements.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills: demonstrated experience with commercial transactions, specifically the drafting and negotiation of items such as: complex master outsourcing services and technology-related agreements, software licensing agreements, RFPs and RFIs to name a few.
Have experience overseeing and closing multiple projects and transactions.
Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of cultural nuances.
Open to some travel as required.
Education/Professional Requirements:

Bachelor's degree
Admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of an Australian state or territory, and have a practising certificate.
