About the Role
Responsibilities include;
Drafting and negotiating insurance distribution agreements and you will be involved in structuring these arrangements which vary from licensee-to-licensee arrangements, authorised representatives and other modelsProvide legal advice to the Consumer division, as requested, including advice on distribution structuring, product wordings, Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act, the Insurance Contracts Act and the General Insurance Code of PracticeProviding regulatory advice (with a commercial understanding of the legislative regime) on a range of issues relating to all forms of retail distribution which could include advice on anti-hawking, add-on insurance and design and distributionWork with the regulatory and government relations teams to advocate for legislative change and comment on new legislationAbout you You have +2 years PQE with legal experience working in financial servicesKnowledge of Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act and its application in the insurance sector is highly regardedStrong general insurance, or reinsurance legal experience is highly regardedAbility to work both autonomously and as a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
