Legal Counsel, Construction & Major Projects Lawyer
We represent a leading provider of construction, infrastructure and facility services in Australia.
As an upshot of growth, they are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to join their front-end and transactional focused sub-team.
This role will ideally be based in Melbourne.
The Team
This highly respected business is recruiting for an experienced construction lawyer to join their in-house Legal team based in Melbourne.
The team is headed by a group of senior lawyers who have been exposed to various sectors within the construction practice area, with this expertise having the capacity to assist your career development.
The Role
This role will see you reporting directly to Senior Legal Counsel and ultimately to the Head of Front-End Transactions.
You will be responsible for offering transactional legal support, with your key responsibilities focusing on providing support on the company's bids and tenders across a range of projects and industries including major social infrastructure, energy including renewables, utilities and telecommunications.
Additionally, you will provide legal assistance to project governance initiatives and where appropriate, report to project governance bodies/forums.

Requirements
The successful candidate will most likely have 3 to 7 years' post admission experience, preferably in front end construction from a top law firm or leading construction company.
In addition, you will have:
excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise with legal and other professionals and clients as necessary
superior analytical and drafting skills
ability to work effectively with clients
the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
ambition with a desire to excel your career.
