Legal & Compliance Manager

This is a great time to join this international specialist Financial Services provider as it continues to expand into new jurisdictions.
There's the realistic potential for the role to develop into a Head of Legal & Compliance position and to ultimately take on the SMF16 responsibility further down the line.
Managing a small team, this is a very hands-on role that will see you provide key Legal and Compliance advice and insight across existing international operations (UK, US and Europe).
You'll be responsible for the ongoing development of the firm's Compliance framework, policies and procedures and also take ownership for the planning and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Plan.
In addition, you'll undertake horizon scanning of the regulatory landscape across all relevant jurisdictions and provide advice, training and management updates as appropriate.
Working closely with external lawyers, you'll also provide legal advice on commercial contracts, employment law, intellectual property and corporate governance.
You'll be an experienced Legal & Compliance specialist with previous Financial Services exposure.
You'll have a proven track record of designing and implementing Compliance frameworks, policies and procedures and will have demonstrable managerial experience.
You must also be happy working in a hands-on manner – you'll never be far from the coalface.
The role is based in Newport, South Wales and the firm operates a hybrid working model (2 days a week in the office, 3 days working from home).
