Legal Assistant / Law Clerk

This is a fabulous opportunity for a young achiever.We are seeking to place a part-time legal assistant/law clerk in our corporate advisory and litigation legal practice. The position is part-time at the office premises in York Street, Sydney, working 3-4 days a week from 8:30 am to 5 pm. The position would ideally suit a university student studying law part-time. You must be able to start immediately.CharterLaw is a boutique city firm of commercial and business lawyers based in the heart of the Sydney CBD.The successful candidate will have excellent computer and organisational skills and be studying law part-time or externally. If you have some experience with document management software EvolveGo/Practice Evolve, this would be useful.Responsibilities:Preparing correspondence and legal documents including court documentsPreparing counsel briefs, appeal books, chronologies, evidence, and exhibit material, court filingAssisting the lawyers with all aspects of the litigation processLiaising with clients, counsel, court registries, and others as necessaryGeneral filing, computer profiling, and document managementAccounting software: opening new clients and matters, draft billingOnline searching and legal researchThis is a great opportunity for a robust young achiever who is willing to learn and keen to build on their experience.The firm has a strong and cohesive culture and actively looks after its staff.
