Reporting to the Managing Lawyer (Policy) and supporting the Litigation and Policy Team, this is an opportunity working in a friendly and fast-paced environment.
It provides an opportunity to continue to develop a legal approach and processes for the future. The Litigation and Policy team is responsible for providing high standard legal and policy advice on legislation governing registration of title, the NSW Land and Property Information concession, the conveyancing process, eConveyancing, the Torrens Assurance Fund, survey practice, and valuation of land and the development of real estate in NSW. You will provide a broad range of administrative and business support services for the effective operation of the business unit. About you: To be successful in this role, you will have experience working as a legal assistant or in a paralegal role, ideally in a litigation or property practice. The right applicant will be a team player, willing to develop skills in new areas, comfortable with ambiguity, who enjoys working with others to develop innovative solutions. We are looking for someone who can prioritise work in a high-volume work area to meet competing demands with conflicting and critical deadlines in order to maintain a high-quality output. This role will involve: Providing a range of administrative functions to support the efficient operation of DCS Legal Acting as a professional point of contact with staff, stakeholders and customers by responding to enquiries, escalating and redirecting issues as required to ensure the timely provision of accurate information Assisting lawyers and paralegals with preparation of briefing documents, court filings and collating subpoenaed material to support the effective operation of the business unit. Maintaining accurate records in legal information systems for the team/business unit in accordance with records management policies and procedures and confidentiality/privacy requirements Arranging maintenance of equipment and stationery and support their purchase and distribution in line with organisational procedures and policies. Completing routine financial transactions and purchasing services, ensuring compliance with agency standards and procedures.
