About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Assistant with experience in family law to join our friendly and talented Private Clients team. The role as a full time 12-month parental leave contract.
We are looking for a Legal Assistant who wants to join a driven team led by highly respected and involved partners. Bartier Perry offers flexibility for those who want it, within a warm, friendly and supportive environment.
About the team
Our firm has one of the most highly regarded Private Client practices in Sydney, with an enviable list of clients who seek assistance with legal matters involving family law, estate planning, business succession, deceased estates, disputed estates, taxation, superannuation, and investment structuring.
Duties include:
Diary and file management (booking meetings/appointments);
Administrative support to the partners and fee earners in the practice group;
Opening and closing files;
Preparing, collating, amending and formatting documents and correspondence;
Filing documents on the Commonwealth Courts portal;
Liaising with Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia registry staff;
Preparing briefs to Counsel;
Answering phone calls, taking clear and accurate messages and passing to appropriate person(s);
Inputting and maintaining client data into our CRM software (Aderant Expert);
Monthly billing;
Assisting with client queries; and
Assisting and working with the Senior Legal Secretary/Paralegal to manage admin and document overflow.
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess:
2 + years experience as a Legal Assistant or similar capacity
Strong interest in Family Law
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability in time management and organisation
Collaborative mindset/team player
Meticulous attention to detail
Approachable with a positive attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Familiarity in filing documents on the Commonwealth Court portal is advantageous
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with composure
