Legal Assistant, Construction, Infrastructure & Projects - BrisbaneYou will provide high level support to a team of lawyers, including the National Head of CI&P and National Managing Partner as required.

The Construction, Infrastructure and Projects (CI&P) group undertake work relating to all aspects of construction, infrastructure and projects for both private and public sector clients, supporting clients through the entire project lifecycle to manage risk and deliver great outcomes. In this team you will provide support to a team of lawyers, including the National Head of CI&P and National Managing Partner as required.

About the role
Day to day your key responsibilities will include:

Drafting routine correspondence and documentation including the use of precedents, style guides and firm standardsManaging emails, diaries and voicemail for the teamCollating briefs to Counsel, Affidavits and ExhibitsPreparing contracts with multiple annexuresManaging billing process and preparing draft invoicesAssisting with client account management including managing fee estimates and handling billing queries from clientsCoordinating and managing monthly reportsAssisting with processing of expenses claimsCopying typing (including dictation occasionally), formatting and general word processingOpening and closing files (including archiving)ASIC and PPSR searchesProduction of presentations and assisting in the organisation of seminars and eventsCoordinating and assisting with compilation of Adjudication Applications and Responses and attending to service of documents 27th June, 2024 About the team

You will have prior experience providing partner or executive level support as a legal assistant or within a legal support role. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with a team based, client first approach and a genuine interest in construction.

Given this role will predominantly provide support to the National Head of CI&P, as well as relief support to the National Managing Partner, discretion and the ability to professionally manage confidential and sensitive material is critical. Therefore, you will have prior experience acting as a gate keeper, with exceptional organisational and communication skills. 

To be successful in this role you will also have:
Experience in billing and managing high volume court documentationFast and accurate typing skillsProficiency with Microsoft officeExcellent attention to detailEnjoy working in a team-based environment with a commitment to contributing to positive team morale and engagementA can-do attitude with plenty of initiativeKnowledge of Work10 and Aderant will be highly regarded however not essential as training will be provided.
