The team is well recognised by government departments, major construction companies and developer clients for practical and commercial advice.You will provide a high level of administrative and secretarial support to a mix of senior and junior lawyers in a close-knit team that embraces a supportive culture. You will get to know our clients and our projects, and be able to offer focused support for our work.These roles will work closely with either one of our award-winning Construction Partners, Andrew Pitney and Simone Holding.There is plenty of variety with the key responsibilities and duties including:Drafting and editing high quality legal correspondence and documentationLiaising with clients, Partners, lawyers and other stakeholders via email and telephoneTime entry, preparation of bills and processing of monthly billingAssisting with matter management, including file opening and closing, and preparing matter status and billing reports for the team and for clientsWe work in a hybrid way at Maddocks, with part of our week in the office, and also have wider flexible working arrangements, whether that's hours, place of work or the leave you take. A strong work ethic and commitment to your role will see you succeed in this position.Ideally, you will have:At least two years of legal assistant or executive assistant experience within private practicePolished secretarial skills including refined knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheet skillsA proactive and collaborative approach, with a high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organisational skillsThe ability to produce accurate, high quality work (attention to detail is critical)Previous experience working with billing software such as Aderant Expert is advantageousMaddocks is simply a great place to do great work.
