We are seeking experienced and dedicated Legal Assistants for our Melbourne and Northcote offices, with opportunities to work in any of our three practice areas: Workers Compensation/WorkCover, Asbestos/Dust Diseases, or Transport Accident (TAC). Both part-time and full-time roles are available, with flexible arrangements such as school-hour schedules and hybrid working options. Job tasks and responsibilities Provide legal administrative and practice management support to a Lawyer;Draft court documents, prepare/compile briefs, letters and correspondence;File Court Documents;Manage diary, email and tasks;Arrange meetings and appointments;Liaise with clients, law firms, barristers, court staff, insurers, doctors and other third parties;Develop and maintain billing and invoicing systems;General file management and work with the lawyer to advance files and achieve optimal file velocity;Monitor critical dates to ensure deadlines are met;Handle telephone, general enquiries and requests from clients;Maintain data records and generate reports.Skills and experience Experience in Personal Injury Law is required;Empathetic, confident and personable with a genuine interest in Personal Injury Law;Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;High level of professionalism, exceptional client service skills and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care;Superior organisational and task management skills, ability to manage conflicting priorities and respond to rapidly changing needs of a fast-paced practice;Ability to confidently and professionally communicate with clients, referrers, health professionals, Courts, barristers, lawyers and Government agencies;Technology-savvy and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications;Ability to show initiative;An interest in contributing to developing, maintaining and refining systems and processes within the practice.Why Gordon Legal?
