We are looking for an experienced Legal & Ethics Counsel (titled Legal & Ethics Partner at Roche) based in our head office in Barangaroo and reporting to the Head of Legal & Ethics (titled Chapter Lead- Legal & Ethics at Roche). The Legal & Ethics Partner is responsible for strategically identifying and advising on legal, compliance and ethical risks and evolving requirements, laws and standards, particularly with respect to healthcare and corporate regulations. They design and implement programs that build an ethical culture, support strategic and tactical initiatives across the affiliate, and help our organization to pioneer life changing healthcare for every Australian. As a Legal & Ethics Partner, you will deliver legal expertise and champion an appropriate, holistic, risk-based approach. Being an advisor that enables informed strategic choices within an acceptable legal risk profile, you will manage and mitigate Legal and Ethics issues. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Act as a business partner to manage legal issues, provide insights and tangible solutions. Provide high quality, strategic, effective and efficient legal advice and support. Support continuous improvement of internal practices, policies and procedures consistent with the wider legal and healthcare compliance environment. Advise on emerging legal and healthcare compliance matters, practices, issues and trends. Who are you: You are degree qualified in law and hold a current legal practicing certificate for New South Wales or have the eligibility to immediately apply for such certification. You have extensive post-admission legal practice experience, supporting companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices or a highly regulated industry. You have significant knowledge of the Laws affecting the pharmaceutical industry including the National Health Act, Competition and Consumer Act and Privacy Laws. With your strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills, you can effectively drive discussions and decisions toward desired outcomes.
