Reporting to a Senior Legal Counsel, you'll join a high-performing legal and compliance team to provide support and advice to Plenti business units on legal and compliance issues across a broad range of matters, from consumer credit and financial regulatory, privacy and complaints, to general commercial work. In addition to interesting and challenging work, you'll get direct access to the General Counsel, senior management and the Executive Team as well as varied experience from day one. This role can be undertaken in either our Sydney or Adelaide office. What will you be responsible for? •Legal and compliance advice: Provide legal and compliance advice to all of Plenti's business units. Includes responding to ad-hoc requests, drafting policy and procedure documents, preparing responses to borrower, investor and shareholder complaints and disputes, and reviewing promotional and marketing materials. •Strategic Partnership lead: Be the main legal and compliance support for a key strategic partnership. New products and features: Provide project and product teams with advice and pragmatic solutions taking into account regulatory requirements. •Agreements: Reviewing various types of commercial agreements. •Training and Education: Provide compliance training and education programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of compliance issues. •Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards and ensure the organization's compliance with them. •Compliance Program: Assist the Compliance Officer in maintaining and managing the Compliance Program at Plenti. •Risk Assessment: Assist the Compliance Officer in conducting risk assessments and audits to identify compliance risks and recommend appropriate actions. •Investigations: Lead or assist in internal investigations related to compliance matters, including allegations of misconduct or violations. •Reporting and Documentation: Assist in incident and breach management and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to compliance activities and incidents. •Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and various business units across the business to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance What will make you successful in this role? Required Tertiary qualifications in law and admission to practice in NSW •3 – 6 years' PQE •Knowledge of the consumer credit regulatory framework •Fast learner with strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills •An ability to work autonomously as well as engage with others in a team environment •Capacity to work on multiple tasks simultaneously •A commercial approach to problem-solving with stakeholder management skills Desirable but not essential •Knowledge of financial services law •Knowledge of AML/CTF law •Litigation experience What's life like at Plenti?
